    Rocky Olonde is the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Pioneer Insurance Group, where he guides the Group’s transformation agenda with a focus on digital innovation, customer-centric strategies, operational efficiency, alternative distribution channels, market expansion, and cultural renewal.

    A visionary executive with over a decade of leadership experience, Rocky has a proven track record of driving multi-billion-dollar growth initiatives, building high-performance teams, and deploying innovative business models across Africa and Asia—spanning Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Mauritius, and India.

    Key Professional Milestones

    • Strategy & Banking Transformation: Most recently, Rocky served as Group Chief Strategy Officer and Chief of Staff at I&M Group. During his tenure, he architected the transformation strategy that elevated the institution to Tier 1 banking status, capture a 4.5% market share growth, and drove a 45% CAGR in personal banking revenue through a digital factory and open API platform.

    • Global Partnerships & Expansion: He successfully led cross-border expansions across five countries and secured strategic risk guarantees and financing partnerships with global institutions like FMO, SIDA, and ACELI to bolster SME, green finance, and agricultural lending.

    • Consulting & Public Sector Impact: Earlier in his career, Rocky worked with Palladium Consulting in India, where he guided a major metropolitan smart city transformation. He also served as an advisor at PwC, delivering high-impact cost savings, operational efficiencies, and growth strategies for leading banks, insurers, utilities, and government entities across East and Central Africa.

Over the years, my experience has been demonstrated by delivering quality audit engagements for large and complex clients, especially, Insurances, Banks, Saccos, Financial Services and Consumer Industry Markets. Am an MBA and BCOM graduate.

    Milcah Kinyua

    Milcah Kinyua is the founder Managing Director of Pioneer General Insurance Limited since its inception in 2017. An industry veteran, Milcah’s nearly 26 years career in the industry has earned her a great wealth of experience. She led teams in the underwriting and claims departments of ICEA Lion and CIC Insurance Company, and later served as Managing Director of CIC Insurance Uganda in charge of both General and Life Divisions. She has also previously held the position of General Manager Operations at UAP Old mutual.

    Milcah is a diligent and results-oriented leader with a proven track record in developing and overseeing the implementation of Company’s business strategy, and a great passion for customer service.

    Her academic and leadership qualifications match her experience, having successfully qualified for the Advanced Management Leadership Program (Strathmore Insurance) and Corporate Governance (Center for Corporate Governance in Kenya). She holds a Master of Business Administration Degree (KU) in Entrepreneurship with a Research paper on A SURVEY TO ESTABLISH ACCESSIBILITY OF INSURANCE SERVICES TO SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN NAIROBI CBD. Her Graduate degree is a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University. She is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute London (ACII)

    Margaret Mwashimba

    Margaret Mwashimba is a Relational leader heading the Group Human Resource and Administration functions. She holds a BSC in International Business Administration with greater focus on management, and a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership. She is a qualified Human Resources Development professional with a wealth of over 15 years’ experience and professional exposure. She is committed to delivery of service excellence by ensuring all people are fully engaged, and the right people are recruited and retained for the right jobs.

    Patrick Kariuki

    Patrick holds Masters in strategic Management from University of Nairobi, Bed Accounting and Economics from University of Nairobi, and ACCA (UK). He has over 18 years’ experience in Finance and Accounts which includes 15 years in the Insurance Industry. He joined Pioneer Assurance in 2007.
